The
wood is then brought into the workshop allowing it to acclimatise
to the workshop environment where temperature and humidity
are much more stable. It can remain in the workshop for
three to twelve months before it is cut into four millimetre
slabs, ready to be stickered and stacked into a drying room
where humidity is at a constant 45%. The wood will have
a minimum stay of six to twelve months here, ensuring that
the wood will dry to the desired level of 5-6% mc.
